The Belle of the Village (CL No 348) dated 1854 by George Baxter (1804-1867). Used as a music illustration in “Belle and the Village Valse” and “Jullien’s Album for 1855″. This is an individual copy as it was quite a popular image. Signed bottom right (see pictures), Published Oct 7 1854, by G Baxter, Proprietor and Patentee, London. Framed in an original gilt moulding and mount, with the original label au verso. This was taken from an image by Louis, and printed from 11 blocks. Originally it sold for 3s. The image size is 8 1/4″ x 6 1/2″, the framed size being 12 1/2″ x 14 1/2”. It is of medium rarity.
