Le Repos dans Montagne

“Le Repos dans Montagne” is a pretty and well executed image by JM Kronheim (1810-1896), one of the few licensees (granted 1850) of the Baxter process. An enterprising and able artist and engraver, but his period of work was relatively short – see summary above. His last project was some images for the French market in the Exhibition of 1856 in Paris – this picture being one of those. The colours are rich and we can see, with a decent setting within a mount what a lovely picture it makes. Ready for framing in a moulding of choice. Image size 7″ x 9 1/2″, and mount size 13″ x 16 1/2″.
