STG 162 “Iroquois” owned by P Lorrillard Esq, and ridden by Fred Archer, and this detail is on the original mount. As stated in the Sprake reference this is a fine picture, and is extremely rare. It is not credited to Stevens on the mount and this, in common with other copies, has no back label. Godden thinks it the best Stevengraph ever produced. Originally thought to have been made on commission for the advertising of the Iroquois brand of tobacco. These Stevengraphs have been on sale for up to $6k! The mount has evidence of poor framing where the slip has marked the edge. Framed within a contemporary walnut moulding, and with gilt slip, this Stevengraph looks stunning. As a reminder, note that this is a larger Stevengraph than other horse related items.
