Stevengraph of Peeping Tom

“Peeping Tom” (STG 89). The title is printed within the silk “Ye Peeping Tom of Coventre”. The colours are brilliant red, green, blue, and yellow with grey and brown window surround. It is a 4* rarity in the Austin Sprake reference. The label is a 32+29 variation as on the first entry of page 102 of the Godden reference. As for the mount it is a little unusual. Although a C mount it comes between the C2 (full credit under the image) and C3 (no credit) because it is the shortened credit of “Woven in pure silk”. It dates the piece to about 1895 to 1898. This is an excellent example, there being little discolouration to the mount, excellent silk condition with lovely colours. 134 mm x 182 mm.
