Stevengraph of The Lady Godiva Procession

Stevengraph of “The Lady Godiva Procession”, (STG 150). It rates a one (out of 7) star rarity value within the Sprake reference. It is, however, one of the unusual Stevengraphs, sometimes omitting the trade label on the reverse. It instead has a story label describing the picture, and this is such. They are usually the later versions, this being a very popular image which ran into the 20th century. The card mount is type B2, exhibiting the shortened credit under the image, and it was used from 1881 to 1888. Therefore, considering the long run of this colourful Stevengraph, this is one of the earliest copies. It is well presented  with excellently preserved mount, good colouring, and wonderful overall condition. It is framed in a gilt moulding with glass to the back exposing the story label. Note Peeping Tom in the window top left, and the detail of the spectators on the balcony centre left.
