“Crossing the Brook” CL No 351 dated 1847. This image is quite hard to find on a Stamped Mount, classified rare by CL. It was used in the Sovereign Pocket Book of 1847 and Le Souvenir. From a painting by R Westall. Also found in a page version. From the Bertrand Morgan collection. 12 cms x 17.5 cms and 6 cms x 9 cms. Really good colourings. Excerpt from the CL reference –
“Wandering forth to see
the flowers which most delight the bee,
the green wood, stream, and shady pool
where troutlets leap, when the day is cool.” (Le Souvenir, 1847)
