Gilt Decorated Silhouette of a Boy

There is nothing complicated about this little silhouette. It is simply what it is, a young boy looking left. The frock coat has a high collar and a single notch dating it to about 1830-40. This matches the hair style of side parting and curls. It has been painted on card and gilt highlights applied. The silhouette has been applied to the card upon which it is stuck at a later date, and this can be seen in the pictures with the slight shadow. It sets off the silhouette rather well. Framed in  a rosewood frame with a gilt slip. A really pleasant little silhouette. Frame size 14.5 cms x 17 cms. Image within the frame is 8 cms x 10.5 cms. Single hanger to top centre.
