Fruit

“Fruit” by Kronheim, dated C1860. A succinct title if nothing else. It was a common subject for artists in the Victorian era, and often reproduced by printers, most notably Baxter’s pair “Fruit 1” and “Fruit 2″ (CL No 273 and 274) after Lance. There is a concentration upon the more exotic fruits introduced at this time. Unmounted. Title below with Kronheim accreditation to the left and London to the right. Image size 4 1/2″ x 3 1/4”. The colours are good in this example of Kronheim’s work and use of the Baxter printing process.
