Torre Cinque on the Banks of the Tiber

“Torre Cinque on the Banks of the Tiber” by Kronheim, dated C1860. During the mid C19th the landscape prints were a very popular medium. Baxter, Le Blond and Kronheim capitalised upon it to show their customers different parts of the country. This one is of Torre Cinque on the Banks of the Tiber. It has the attribution to the left of the title “Printed in Oil Colours by JM Kronheim & Co”, and to the right “After Designs by WM Havell”. Great detail in the picture of dogs (of course), horses, people a small vessel, and landscape. It is mounted in a simple cream mount with applied border line, the title being below the image. Image size 4″ x 2 3/4″ and mount size 7 3/4″ x 6″. A really good quality example of Kronheim’s work and use of the Baxter printing process.
