“Review of the Fleet Portsmouth” CL No 197 by George Baxter. Dated 31 May 1854. Signed and dated bottom right (see pictures) this depicts the review of the fleet by Queen Victoria on 11 August 1853. The Courtney Lewis book includes an immense amount of detail on this print, emphasising the importance of the Review at this time. This is a rare print, and the condition makes it particularly desirable. This one is unmounted and is a companion print to CL 198 “Charge of the British Troops on the Road to Windlesham”.
