This picture (LB 91) by Abraham Le Blond (1819-94) was probably adapted from a painting by Thomas Creswick or William Witherington. It is a wonderfully peaceful scene is probably showing people returning from market but it is difficult to see how the ferryman is going to cope – probably by a number of trips. The "Abraham Le Blond – Colour Printer" book by P Lycett & M Martin describe the signature as sometimes being EL Blond, and this is one of those oddities.
