This oval (LB 90) by Abraham Le Blond (1819-94) is always popular with it being a coastal scene. It shows excellent colouring, and depicts the southern English coast. The vessels create interest and there is plenty of activity in the foreground too with net mending, basket emptying, and the dog anticipating a return walk home. You may recall that this picture appears on a Prattware pot lid.
