“The Queen’s Youngest Son” by Kronheim, dated C1860. The Royal Family was a very popular subject for all artists and printers during the C19th. Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany was born 1853 and died at the age of 30 in 1884 of haemophilia complications after a fall in Cannes. A surprising number of Kronheims have a dog in the picture, and there is one here. Mounted in a simple mount with applied border line. The title is below the image with the attribution to Kronheim to the left and the source to the right. Image size 2 1/2″ x 4″ and mount size 6 1/2″ x 10″. A really good quality example of Kronheim’s work and use of the Baxter printing process.
