Stevengraph of “The Lady Godiva Procession”, (STG 150). It rates a one (out of 7) star rarity value within the Sprake reference. It is, however, one of the unusual Stevengraphs that sometimes omits the trade label on the reverse, instead it has a story label describing the picture. This is such a one, and they are usually the later versions, this being a very popular image which ran into the 20th century. The card mount is variant E which ran from 1893 to 1897. This colourful silk is well presented here with excellently preserved mount, and wonderful overall condition. It is framed in a contemporary dark wood and subdued gilt frame, with glass to the back exposing the story label. Note Peeping Tom in the window top left.
