“The First Point” (STG 164) by Thomas Stevens, a coursing scene and being the pair to “The Slip” (STG 163). There are two versions of this picture, STG 164a not showing the slipper in red. This, with the slipper, is the later of the two, on a Type B1 mount used from 31 October 1879 to 1888 with impressed mark of Registration top right of the mount used in the period 1880 to 1885… First issued on label 8, this label has 11 titles dating the piece to 18 March 1888.
