A Stevens post card entitled “Houses of Parliament”. The lovely silk has the embossed border around it, and beneath that is “Woven in Silk”. The title is below that, and then to the left lower is (Regd No 423053). This dates the design to 11 Dec 1903. It is the same design as STG133. The Sprake reference is on page 116 and it is rated as scarce. Besides the Stevens and woven silk interest this has social history and philatelic interest too. The franked stamp (Brooklyn NYS Aug 17 1910) appears to be a fully perforated (12) carmine “Two Cents” Washington No 358 Issued Feb 16 1909. Not being a stamp expert you will need to make your own mind up about this! The script (to Miss Hall of Hitchin) is signed off by initials only. A lovely item, in great condition and well presented in two stamp corners on a card entitled “Stevens Woven Silk”.
