“The Meet” (STG 165) is one of the set of three fox hunting Stevengraphs. It is quite common, being a 1* rarity in the Sprake Darby reference. It was first registered on 26 January 1880 and this one is on a type C3 mount dating it to 1875-1898. The label is a 31+30 variation thereby specifically dating this item to May 1898. The mount has a watermark but the outstanding colours and the condition of the silk compensate for this. It is framed within a period gilt moulding with attractive relief, and matches the other two in the set which are available on the site as a complete set.
