Tunbridgeware Desk/Dressing Table Tidy

This Tunbridgeware piece was sold to me and described as a “book tray”. Two things come to mind, the books would need to be very small indeed, and having had a book tray I would be very disappointed with the size of this one! It is 7 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ x 1 3/4″. However, for all that, it is a lovely little desk tidy, dressing table or trinket container in beautiful condition. Displaying geometric banding design all around and within, on a rosewood base, this displays the best qualities of fine workmanship that we expect from the Tunbridgeware manufactories. The base has the original felt cover.
