A Needle Case A Present from the Crystal Palace, by Thomas Stevens (se 310). This blue version has an embossed rose to the outside flap and a tassel at the end of a rope effect holder for that flap to stay closed. Inside, on the inner flap, is a silk with “May Thy Life be full of Joy” and a woven pin to the top. The English standard needle sizes are displayed with Steven’s attribution and the additional information of the needle makers – “Warranted by Morris & Yeomans”. The next section displays a wonderful exterior view of the Crystal Palace, with the woven title “A Present from the Crystal Palace” above the image.
