We may all be familiar with the small French snuffs made of papier mache. This 5 cms x 2 cms x 3 cms box is one. The base has “Made in France” impressed on it, as well as some applied numbers. These have often been decorated with all sorts of finishes, but I have not seen a tunbridge ware panel applied! The hinge is a fabric material. The condition is rather good for one of these papier mache items, and it is really unusual.
