A Tunbridge ware rouge or salve pot with its original glass liner fitted. The base is as decorated as the top, with a small foot. The top has a star to the centre and a geometric pattern surrounding it. All of stick ware manufacture. These items were made to be sold as simple souvenirs, so it is always a bit of a surprise that they have survived, and in such good condition. The design, novelty of woodwork, and relative usefulness would be a major contributor to this. 2.5 cms high and a diameter of 3.5 cms.
