A beautiful caddy spoon made in the “stickware” or “inlaid turnery” fashion. This particular example displays extensive decoration throughout the piece, and an identical item can be seen on page 85 “Tunbridgeware” by B Austen, at the bottom right of the black and white picture. It is difficult to attribute this type of smaller piece as all the manufactories produced it, so it is left to the design to associate them. Thomas Barton (1819-1903) introduced the star design, but of course it was then used by others. Dated to about 1870. Bowl is 4 cms across.
