“The Sailor’s Departure” (LB No 78 CL No 94) by Abraham Le Blond (1819-94). See Lycett/Martin reference book on page 25. Single signature version with Le Blond’s details bottom centre. A clean pristine mount, and outstanding colourings. The sailor is bidding farewell to his family, probably off to the Crimean War. It could be paired with “The Soldier’s Return” (LB No 77), both being emotive images of their time.
