Silver Tazza by Elkington & Co

This is an elegant and simply designed tazza by the renowned maker Elkington & Co. It is dated 1928, see the clear Birmingham D hallmark in the pictures. It had it’s own design detail of E18/5849/1 scratched on the base, again in the pictures. It was a Registered Design too (No 741395) as well as the company name with the number 26418 impressed on the underside of the pedestal foot. The pedestal foot is 118 mm across, and the tazza bowl 208 mm across, so it is nicely proportioned and not too large. It makes a lovely centre piece on any sized table. It is 100 mm high. The pedestal has a simply designed knop as the pictures show. The impressed edge design on the bowl and repeated on the foot is a simple geometric. In silver, it weighs 455 grams.
