“The Bride” by Abraham Le Blond, CL No 147. This was used for both needle boxes and music covers. It is generally called the “large” Bride to distinguish it from CL146 dated 1848. One of Baxter’s prettiest images, this is usually signed bottom right on the stone wall. The absence of Baxter’s signature and the very slightly smaller image size would indicate this is a Le Blond copy of some quality. It is square topped. Mounted ready for framing.
