A Taratanware dip pen (tartan design not marked) in lovely condition. It is 6 3/4″ long and the condition is excellent. Made by John Cooke & Sons, London as marked on the nib holder. This company was established in 1814 in Leather Lane, Holborn, by John Cooke (formerly of H.M. Stationery Office). The nib is gold plated and by John Mitchell numbered 744.
