Walnut Vanity Box

A Ladies walnut Vanity Box of real quality, retailed by Greaves of New Street Birmingham, with retailers’ details at the base of the open lid. It has a brass escutcheon and presentation plate. Opens to reveal covered inside lid that unclips to release mirror. The fully fitted interior is complete with bottles and hand engraving to the silver plated tops. The change of wood type to coromandel from walnut is an indicator of fine manufacturing. Fall front opens to two re-furbished drawers, the second a fitted unit for pocket watch, comb, and jewellery. Dated to about 1870-1890.
