Baxter Print The Gems of the Great Exhibition No 3

This is one of an outstanding set of Plates in immaculate condition, of museum quality. This one – “The Gems of the Great Exhibition No 3, CL No 168”. It represents the Russian Department and consists of three parts that were produced as separate prints. To the left we have “Rinaldi and Armida” CL No 180 (Hiram Powers), then “The Greek Slave” CL No 179 (Hiram Powers), and finally “Mother Presenting her Son with a Bible” CL No 181 (Mary Thorneycroft). To the left is the candelabra by Russian artisans. Malachite doors and vases can be seen, produced by many workmen over a very long period. This was produced using 10 blocks. Of Medium Rarity on a Stamped Mount, as here, according to CL.  It was produced in August 1852. 9 1/2″ x 4 3/4″. This item has the added advantage of the reference page, see images.
