Tartanware Barrel Shaped Thimble Holder (McBeth)

A barrel shaped Tartanware thimble holder. The outside is in good condition with the McBeth tartan, marked in gilt lettering. This exhibits the black edging as opposed to the more extravagant gilt decoration. The tartan design is followed through to the top, the base being black. Inside the push fit is space for a thimble set in a velvet liner. The dimensions of this sewing accessory are 25mm diameter and 45mm high. In very good condition to the naked eye, the high resolution photographs showing small marks not seen in usual use.
