“The Cornfield” CL352 by Le Blond. Originally produced by Baxter 20 November 1857, this delightful picture romanticising the rural idyll was taken from a painting by Shayer who also painted “Harvest Time”. The title is in the plate margin, and there is no signature of Baxter’s or Le Blond’s. The detail is exquisite, and it was produced from 10 blocks.
